OB Augspurger Starts In Lop-sided Victory Over The All Blacks.

The Eagles 7s side opened the 2015-16 World Sevens Series with a Final Four appearance that left them in 3rd place only because of a late rally by England in the Cup Semifinals that ended when England scored with no time emaining. It was historic for the Eagles because they defeated the New Zealand All Blacks for the first time ever...and did it twice.

When the two sides met for third place, the Eagles staff opted to give the reserves the chance to compete against the best and to show what they could do. And did they ever - The USA ran away from the Kiwis 31-12.

Old Blue Nate Augspurger represented very well on the weekend. He came on late in the opening Pool C match vs Portugal to smartly gather a rebounding restart kick on the full and race in for a try, self-converted, in a blowout 45-14 Eagles victory. Nate then joined several other Eagles reserves in the 3rd place match to start against mighty New Zealand and they proceeded to dismantle the All Blacks 31-12. Can’t top that. Nate performed very well, taking a quick tap to offload to support for a try, and also kicking true for three conversions against the All Blacks. We are all proud of you, Nate! Cheers for your personal scoring line of 13 points at the Dubai 7s.

Things will get even better for the USA when a few more of your OB teammates join you on the roster. (No one impresses us but us.)
